Ciata moved to the States from Liberia when she was a teenager, and she is now a successful designer whose collections are inspired to Africa.
I didn't know what to expect when I met her for the first time in person at the photoshoot. At first, she had almost an intimidating presence with her elegant and powerful demeanor, but when her smile comes out, her warmth hits like a sunray on a cloudy day

She has more energy in her pinky that I do in my whole body most days

When I met Breyah I was immediately struck by her open smile and her strawberry red hair that gives her a air of mischief. What stayed with me after talking to her was her humanity, the humble strength of those who had to travel a rocky road in life. When she told me about how she had to find the courage of finally being herself, leading her own way when there was no one else's example to follow, she did it with the utmost humility. Now I hope she will be that light at the end of the tunnel for those like her who want to be themselves despite society's prejudice
